📌 Basic Structure
Verb [た] + あげく、[result of a long effort] 。
試着したあげく、買いませんでした。✅
Shityaku shita ageku, kaimasendeshita.
→ After trying on clothes, I didn’t buy it.
探したあげく、見つけました。✅
Sagashita ageku, mitsukemashita.→ After searching thoroughly, found it.
泣いたあげく、元気になりました。❌
Naita ageku, genki ni narimashita. → Incorrect!
Used when the process or result is negative. It doesn't fit positive outcomes, since it carries a negative nuance.
